Description
The first release of the modern Missouri programme, and a plant with fifteen years between the collection and the name.
It is worth being precise about where it came from, because the record is easy to garble: it was collected from the wild in east central Oklahoma in 1995, and released through the Missouri programme in 2010. Sources that place the original plant in Missouri are confusing the finding with the releasing institution — a common enough failure in cultivar records, and exactly the kind this database exists to avoid repeating.
With ‘Bob Gordon’, it anchors the current American recommendations. Both are wild selections. Neither was bred.
