The work
Professor of soil microbial ecology at The Ohio State University’s School of Environment and Natural Resources. Over 20+ years with Senegalese and French partners he developed the Optimized Shrub System (OSS): high-density Guiera senegalensis and Piliostigma reticulatum intercropping with coppiced residue incorporation, shown to remediate soils, boost millet and peanut yields, and ‘bioirrigate’ crops through hydraulic lift. Author of Methods of Soil Enzymology (SSSA).
