The work

Australian soil microbiologist and climate scientist, retired from CSIRO where he researched mycorrhizal fungi recolonizing degraded soils. Founder and director of Healthy Soils Australia (formed 2005). His 2017 paper Regenerate Earth articulated how rebuilding porous, carbon-rich soils restores hydrology and cools landscapes. Participated in the 2017 UN FAO Paris meeting on bringing soil into IPCC reporting.
