The work

Plant evolutionary ecologist at the University of Kansas (Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and the Kansas Biological Survey). Her lab uses Kansas’s east-west precipitation gradient to show that soil microbiota with a legacy of chronic water limitation can mitigate acute drought for native grasses but not for domesticated maize, and studies heterosis and disease resistance in maize microbiomes. NSF-funded collaborator with the University of Nottingham.
