Description
A tree somebody noticed in the Indiana woods in 1950, and still one of the benchmarks three-quarters of a century later. It is a parent of ‘NC-1’ and a fixture of the regional variety trials.
It is a useful reminder of where this crop actually is: pawpaw has barely been domesticated, and a wild selection made by one person walking through a woodlot can still hold its own against a bred cultivar.
