Description
The narrower of the two Ware’s oaks recorded here, out of the same Illinois programme and the same interspecific cross.
The parent tree’s measurements are the honest scale note in this file: thirty-five feet tall and six feet across at thirty years old. Six feet of spread is a hedge, not a canopy, and a tree of that form is a screen or a street planting. It bears acorns, being an oak, but nothing about it was selected with a crop in mind.
