Description
A Danish cultivar grown for large, well-flavoured clusters, and half of a standard pairing: ‘Samdal’ and ‘Samyl’ are routinely planted together.
That pairing is the practical shape of the partial self-fertility problem. Rather than asking whether a given elderberry is self-fertile, European growers answer the question structurally by planting a known-compatible pair. It is the same solution the pawpaw file arrives at from a stricter starting point, and it is the right default for anyone who does not want to test the question with a decade of their own time.
Where to find it
No source recorded. That does not mean the cultivar is unavailable, only that this record does not yet name a nursery carrying it. Point us at one and it goes in.
